どうも、Onoma（そのサークルの存在はシュレ―ティンガ―の猫）の、脳内で常時創作活動中のまんじゅ（´ん｀）です。
「”それ”は『創作』とは言わない」
そう、そのとおり。
さて、本業の方ではしがない年収100万円未満の派遣プログラマーをやっておりますが、いかんせん技術者の書いた文書や会話の内容が、企画・設計者に伝わらない事があり、なんでかなあと個人的に思ったことをだらだらまとめるだけです。
とは書きつつも、もしかすると物書きに通ずるものが皆無でもないので、こちらのブログに書かせていただきます。
なお、この記事は、先日書いたなるべく多くの知識を吸収するために知ったかぶるの続きの様なものだと認識して頂ければ幸いです。
どういうことか。
いわゆる専門用語や業界用語や横文字のことです。
例えば、「フール・プルーフ」「フェイルセーフ」「スレッド」「マルチタスク」。全てIT業界もしくはそれに近いところで使われ、後ろ2つについては頻繁に出てくるレベルです。
もう少し身近な分野に行きましょう。「ブレーンワールド」「超ひも理論」「量子」。この辺なら理解できるでしょう。
とは書きつつも、ここまで出した単語はコンピューターテクノロジーや量子論の知識が無いと、頭に疑問符の出てくるものだと思います。
しかしながら、専門用語は、
「長ったらしい理論や説明を省いて、情報を圧縮した単語」
とも捉えることができ、それはそれでその圧縮を解ける人には、瞬時に情報を共有することができるので便利です。
便利なので使います。が、それは識者にしか伝わらない情報となってしまい、そもそもスレッドの意味を履き違えて会話してたら、後々トラブルが起きる可能性があります。
「この掲示板、マルチスレッド処理にして」
「え？ この掲示板はすでにマルチスレッドですよ？」
「いや、マルチスレッドだけど、マルチスレッド処理はしてないでしょう」
「あの、トピックごとにスレッドができてるので、マルチスレッドだと思うんですけど」
「違うよ、私が言いたいのは、『複数人が同時に書き込みした際の処理の対応をしていない』ということをいってるの」
「あ……え？ スレッドってそういう意味です？」
「そういう意味もあるの」
無さそうだけど、無いとは言い切れない会話例です。
しかしながら、識者はその単語の説明をいちいち説明するのも面倒くさいと思うわけです。
文書に「遷移」と「チェンジ」の表記ゆれも気にならないくらい相手の認知に依存することだって在るわけです。
その場合には聞けばいい話ですが、それでも分からない場合はどうするか。
筆者がよくやる手は、
「単語を更に分解する」
という手法です。
私個人の周りを見て思うに、意外と皆意識していないのか無意識でやってるのか、はたまた根本的に知らないのかわからないですが、接頭語、接尾語、語幹からその言葉の意味を推測することが意外と可能です。
例えば、”react”という単語。"re - act"と分けれます。そして、何となく、
「"re"は『もう一度』とかという意味で、”act”は『行動する』っていう意味だよなあ」
と思いながら話は聞けます。というより、私はそうやってよく知ったかぶってます。
「いや、知ったかぶってたら駄目やん。そのうちほころび出てくるやん」
はい、出てきます。出てきたらすかさず、
「うん？ 僕、”react”って『もう一度行動する』という意味で認識してるんですけど、ズレありました？」
という具合でしょっちゅう有識者と会話してます。
もちろんこれは日本語でも使える小技です。さっきの”超ひも理論”も”超 - ひも - 理論"に分けられて、
「”超”がつくくらいすごい”ひも”が関連する”理論”があるんだな」
と推測はできるわけです。
この記事ではあえて接頭語・接尾語・語幹リストは提示しません。調べればすぐにわかるでしょう。
あとは日常の言葉でどれだけ当てはまるかなあ……と思考練習（？）すると良いのではないかと思います。
有識者はこれに限ります。普通に略語、専門用語、業界用語、表記ゆれを文書に入れたら、意外とそれが読者の思考のノイズになります。文書や物語の理解を妨げる可能性も否定できません。
何かの解説や説明は、小学生や幼稚園児への説明とまではいかずとも、
「５年前の知識や理解の自分に教える」
くらいの気持ちで文書を書くと同時に、読む時は5年前の自分に戻って読むといいのかもしれません。
さて、ここまで考えて、上の様な仮説が私の中で立ちました。仕事中に。（「仕事中にかよ。働けよ」というツッコミは甘んじて受けます）
しかしながら、周りの技術者や自分の経験を踏まえても、
「分かってしまえば簡単なのに、みんな学ぼうとしない。学ぶ手前で臆してるのか、そもそも興味が無いからかわからないけど分かってくれない」
という話はよく聞きます。
d1 $ "bd bd bd bd"
これ、ぱっと見て理解した人は読み飛ばしてください。Haskellのライブコーディングライブラリ”TidalCycles”で、
「チャンネル"d1"に1秒間に4回”bd”（バスドラム）を鳴らさせる」
というプログラムです。
はい、この説明も腑に落ちた方、この先の話読み飛ばして良いです。
「じゃあ内部処理どうなってるの？ 前後に何か色々あるんじゃないの？」
色々セッティングは必要ですが、ソースコードはコレだけです。コレを実行するだけで、
「チャンネル"d1"に1秒間に4回”bd”（バスドラム）を鳴らさせる」
ことができます。
「じゃあ1秒間に8回鳴らしたい場合はどう書くの？」
「1秒間じゃなくて、0.5秒で鳴らしたい」
「他の音無いの？」
といろいろ疑問が沸き起こります？ 沸き起こるのなら話早いです。調べましょう。そしてそれを実際に実行してみましょう。プログラマはよくそうします。
「なんか漠然としすぎて何から調べればいいかわからない」
うーん……やりたいことは？ それとも内部の処理が気になります？ 言語化しましょう。調べてみましょう。大抵のコンピューターに詳しい人たちはそうしてます。
ちゃんとした文章でなくて良いのです。単語で良いんです。例えば、
「Haskell $ 何」
とかでサーチエンジンで検索できるんです。大抵のコンピューターに詳しい人たちはそれを当然のように知ってたりします。
見出し通り。
そして知らないところは調べる。それを繰り返してるだけです。
調べても分からなかったら？ 考えるんですよ。
「自分が”何”を”どこ”まで理解しているか」
そうすると、自ずと次は何で調べればいいか出てくる。
という思考をしながら僕は有識者と会話してます。
なので、
「今の自分は、この人の話どこまで分かってるかなあ……」
とか、
「どうしてこの人はそういう考えに至ったのだろうか」
と考えたりして会話してます。
なかなかそういう考えするのが難しいと言う人は、ちょっと昔のゲームとか、サード・パーソン・シューティングなど、
「自分のちょっと後ろで自分が映り込んでる情景」
を想像するのがいいのかなあと、筆者の経験でしか物が書けませんが、そう思います。

「抽象化」というより、「汎化」というのが適切ではありますが、
言葉は汎化すると「述語」が残ります。当然と言えば当然ですが。
その述語に対して何ぶち込んだって、言葉が通じれば意味も通じます。話が通じるかは別ですが。
ここから先は私の脳内世界のお話ですので、右から左に受け流す程度に。
述語しか残らないので、主語・目的語は何ぶち込んでも言葉になるわけですので、まあ自然言語ってここ最近のカリー化やモナドが実装された関数型言語みたいだなあと。

さて、改めて”プログラミング”という行為について考えてみると、それはまるで、

行為だなと思ったわけです。
と考えると、相手の思考を読み解こう、理解しようと思うには、やはりソースコードなり論文なりエッセイなり物語を見るのが良いなあ。
特に自分みたいに”他人の思考を垣間見る”のが趣味みたいな人間には、創作物に触れるというのは良いものなのだろうなと思っただけです。はい。
